Saturday A felt like cleaning so she sent the kids and me to Sattel Hochstuckli, a small "family adventure" area in the foothills of the alps in Schwyz. After riding the world's first revolving gondola to the top there were two main features: "Stuckli Jump," a trampoline and bouncy castle park, and "Stuckli Run," a mountain coaster ride.
We started in the bouncy park, where the first thing one sees, much to L's delight, is a giant slide.
L quickly scaled the ladder... |
...before bouncing and sliding to the bottom |
Meanwhile, T found an alternate route up the back... |
...then showed off his best superman |
In addition to somewhat standard bouncy structures, like a giant dome and an obstacle course ending in a cargo net climb to a slide (another of L's favorites after S showed her the finer points of climbing a cargo net), they have some I've never seen before -- probably because they'd never pass muster in the US! Take, for example, the bull ride, which S mastered but the littles had some difficulty with.
They also had tramplines...
and bungee trampolines for getting an aerial view of the surrounding mountainsides.
R pulled off a double flip |
After jumping around for a couple of hours we walked over to the mountain coaster ride, which amazingly had no line, so we rode over and over again. Even T & L got into controlling the sleds. T was so good at it they let him go on his own sled, an honor usually reserved for 6 year olds. L was a bit too much of a speed demon to go it alone -- she screeched "Wheeeee!" as she pushed the stick full forward to pick up speed then cackled (and didn't so much obey) as I told her to slow down in the corners. With time she finally got the hang of it to the point that R felt comfortable turning around for a photo op.
It was a full and fun day for all. We got home, had a quick dinner, went to bed and passed out
L skipped the "went to bed" part |
