Bizarre train station

Post by S!

This is the weirdest train station that we've ever seen. It's a door in the side of the cliff. No benches, no train tracks, just a door and a button. We couldn't even see what was on the other side of the door.

First you walk across this rickety bridge which if you jump on it feels like it jumps with you. Even when you walk normally it jiggles noticeably.

Then you walk through this small archway and are facing a cliff with a door in it. Next to the door there were two buttons. We pressed one and hoped the train would stop.

We had to wait 45 minutes to see if it would work. Meanwhile we settled down and played some games. L and T helped Uncle D with candy crush.

Finally we felt a burst of wind come through the door's window and we heard strange noises.

The door opened and our minds were blown! Especially mine. On the other side of the door was an open train door. We were in a train tunnel and the train station was just a door into the tunnel. The people on the train must have been confused to stop in the middle of a tunnel and pick up people.

This is looking between the train and the tunnel wall.

This is the train view.

p.s. from A - I don't know why we were so surprised by this station. We had just come from a walk through the gorge where an info sign explained that two little doors in the cliff there led to big, fairly luxurious WWII bunkers which were never even used.
