Planes (part 2)

It turns out we didn't have to hurry on our walk around the airport. Grandma and Grandpa H's flight was half an hour late. So we passed the time hanging around the airport a bit, especially admiring the chocolate fountain at Sprungli  (T was invited to sample!) before making our way to the arrivals. Their plane landed and the board reported that the luggage had come in, but no Grandma and Grandpa. We waited so long that their flight was no longer listed on the board. Finally we got news that they were filling out paperwork and would come out soon. Their luggage was lost. (It was found a couple days later.)

The littles found a way to pass the time. They didn't care that they weren't moving.
And guess what happened?
A tourist asked to take their picture! This really does happen shockingly often.
It's nice, but it still puzzles me why people want the pictures of some strange kid.

E, S, and the littles took Grandma and Grandpa to their hotel to check-in while R and I tried to shop, without much luck. She still needs clothes very badly. She has a cardigan collection, a couple of t-shirts from the brocki, a pair of jeans, and that's about it. She might be in worse shape than I am, clothes-wise. I can wear my too big things (I've been tying my jeans tighter with kitchen twine), but she can't wear her too smalls.

Then we all met at Hiltl, and had their huge vegetarian buffet. R was in heaven. She and S want to go back as soon as possible. It would make a good daddy-daughters night out, they think. I imagine E and I will both end up taking them. We might as well spend our dining out budget here and now since there's nowhere worth eating in our hometown. As a bonus - Hiltl is next to Petit Bateau. So maybe there are some clothes in R's future after all.

It was an early dinner so we all could get some much needed sleep. Though I'm not sure how much sleep Grandma and Grandpa got after settling in, dealing with jet lag, and calling the airports.

 Waiting patiently.
