Sunday we had a relaxing morning, which means sleeping in. It was Mama and Daddy's 18th anniversary! Everyone slept in and when we did wake up, Daddy ran to the market to get us some nice fruit for breakfast - L's himbeeren. After a nice brunch Daddy took us to this cool science park Mama found called Lem Science Garden.
The science garden turned out to be just that - a big
open field with trees boxing it in and interactive stations which are basically all fun science experiments with signs explaining what you should be looking at and how it works. First stop, there were four big trampolines. Each had different tension, so we experimented with which ones worked well and which left everyone on their butts. Next door were some optical illusions and interesting water experiments. S and I experimented while Daddy struggled to tear T and L away from the trampolines. Next was one of the two special exhibits that require you to be a certain age and you pay for separately. It was called zorbing, and it is basically a giant yellow inflatable hamster wheel disguised as a ball. I went first and I was expecting something where you hold on and spin around cartwheel style - like in a funhouse when you wedge yourself into the rotating room (which I have done before, and enjoy.) Instead, I ended up frantically crawling to stay upright inside the ball while someone rolled me around. For me it was fun at the beginning but got more like just an exercise, but S enjoyed herself immensely. Next was T's turn. But I think he saw how exhausted S and I were and he backed out.
The next stop was going to be the gyroscope, but we had to make an extra little stop to regain control of L. She was doing whatever she could to make her way back to the trampolines. She eventually gave in and let us carry her (though not in a very comfortable position, by the looks of it) to a pair of conjoined swings. We parked her and T there with Daddy making sure they didn't get hurt or run away while S and I went to the gyroscope. It wasn't any ordinary gyroscope - there was a seat (which amazed S with its comfort) in the middle which parkgoers can sit in and enjoy getting spun and flipped in every direction while learning about gyroscopes (in between screaming and trying not to be sick.)
By that time it was getting pretty late. We had to hurry home because Daddy had made reservations for an anniversary dinner for him and Mama. We rushed through the rest of the park and made it home just in time. S and I babysat for the two and a half hours they were gone. It proved some difficulty when the littles had an argument over T's stuffed dragon and when dinner didn't include enough ice cream. But overall it wasn't too bad and we ended up getting both kids fast asleep, which impressed Mama and Daddy. However, one of them was wrapped in a blanket in the middle of the living room floor, sucking her thumb.
The dinner sounded wonderful, and Daddy couldn't stop saying how perfect it was for his taste. I'm glad that they could enjoy a romantic dinner on their anniversary.
Six nuns were spotted.
