Hometown market

There are Christmas markets everywhere. The big ones stay up all month, but the small ones might only last a couple of days. The market in our small town was there for a day and a half. That was just about right; it was a block and a half long. I will have to see if that is a typical ratio since it roughly corresponds to Einsiedeln's market, too. E, S, L, and I went. The most interesting thing, to me, was this pizza stand. It was just a little soft sided trailer, but it expanded into a pizza stand with a counter and wood burning pizza oven!

One of the stands had huge bunches of mistletoe. If someone doesn't get kissed, it's their own fault.

Finally, you would think that Samichlaus would be done with us after his visit to the house, but the kids put out their shoes just in case. L also enjoyed the traditional bread in the shape of a man. I think it is supposed to represent Schmutzli since the bread man usually carries switches. Large ones also usually have a little clay pipe. Since only L likes the taste of the breadmen she got a relatively small one.
