Easter breakfast
After breakfast we hurried to go to the Deutsches Museum. We wanted to get there as soon after opening as possible so it wouldn't be too crowded. That worked out very well. The museum itself was a bit of a disappointment, though. We expected a lot of interactive science exhibits, which it didn't have. The kids' favorite part of the museum was the Kinderreich section for little kids. It had waterways and pumps, giant legos, musical instruments to play, a firetruck, and the best moon phase exhibit E has ever seen.

Someone must have predicted this when I mentioned waterways in the kinderreich. T was completely soaked. We had to change his entire outfit and he had to go without shoes the rest of the day.
We considered going to the English Garden after the museum, but decided not to because we were concerned about time and because T had no shoes. Instead, we walked through town a little back to the Hofbrauhaus for Easter dinner. It is incredibly rare to find a place where all the kids want to eat. I never would have thought it would be a beer hall! T had wieners, S and R had spaetzle, E had ham, and L begged for a pretzel of her own. She tried some sauerkraut, and I wish I had been taping her reaction. She didn't like it at all. But she did eat more of her pretzel than anyone else did. The other kids eat their pretzels in what R calls, "lobster style," which means leaving the shells.
It was so nice out that we walked back to the train station. Along the way we stopped to look at several churches, most of which had a dense fog of incense. We also stopped for strudel to go. But the best part of the walk was the dog incident, which I will let S dictate:
There was a little girl with a little toy robot dog that walks and makes noise. A real dog that looked very similar to the robot dog went up to the robot dog and stared at it confusedly. Then he started sniffing the robot dog, and it was so hilarious that a crowd gathered to watch the poor little confused dog. The dog just looked around and kept sniffing the robot dog. Finally he just walked away, but he did look back once.
The picture of L driving the truck brought back memories of the big yellow truck! I'm glad the girls like spaetzle - that's one more thing I know how to make.L looks more and more like a little A all the time! Love to you all, Grammie XXXXX00000
