Easter eggs

S shows off her masterpiece of the night.

Our supplies. Notice the colors!

Tonight we dyed our Easter eggs, since we won't have another chance before Easter. We were really impressed with the dye. It was in liquid form instead of pellets. It still had to be added to vinegar and water, but there was no stirring and the eggs didn't get the speckled look that they do if a pellet doesn't dissolve completely. And the liquid colors are so pretty! It was also nice that the dye cups were white, so we could see which color was in which and could see the eggs inside. Coloring was lots of fun. T seemed to love it especially, and made eggs for me, R, S, himself, and his imaginary friend Andy. Eventually T and L left to take a bath while R and S lingered a little bit since they were doing all sorts of special effects on their eggs. After a while T came back and said, "Which is mine? I'm hungry!"

Columns colored by, from left to right: S, L, T, R, A

Clockwise from top left, eggs by T, R, A, L

It's funny how we have our own styles. T wanted stripes and rainbows, L wanted bright single colors, S tries a bit of everything to get specific color effects, I like pastels, and R shoots for ambitious scenes. I don't know what E has done with his eggs. He donated a couple to the kids (S got a bonus egg for volunteering to go to Migros to buy the eggs) and then dyed his later, so I haven't seen yet. Often he keeps his eggs secret until Easter.

  1. All the eggs are soo beautiful !!! I couldn't pick a favorite. Also loved the pictures and post from the trip where you were in the cherry tree orchard. I really had to laugh about L not budging --it brought back vivid memories of another child (A)!! Love You all bunches,GrammieXXXXX00000
