It's a little like Paris: iron balconies, art nouveau statue, street cafe, and a pharmacy.
The main reason for our trip was to see the lido. Biggish playground, large kiddie pool (absolutely freezing!), and a sandy beach. T and L were only interested in the playground, which had a little zip line. L spent some time in the pool, but it really was too cold. The girls swam in the lake and enjoyed the novelty of a sandy beach with a snowy mountain view. There was also a high dive there. Even R didn't have the nerve to go off the highest level.
T on the zip line
When we got home S and I went to meet an English speaking girl who is in S's class and her family. She and S got along very well, which made S much less nervous about school. The girl's father is from Malta. I'd never met anyone from Malta before, which he says is very common for him. So far here I have met people from Switzerland, Germany, Liechtenstein, UK, Malta, and Canada. It might be interesting to keep track. S is already planning to have her friend over for lunch.
Oh- we have found a chocolate place to compete with Sprungli. In terms of just regular mixed chocolates (like the Sprungli tin I got) we think we might prefer Läderach. This is the cabruca truffle.
